Computer Vision
Methods for extracting reliable information from images, video, and visual sensor streams in life science settings.
Ghent University research lab
Biovism builds computer vision and knowledge-guided learning methods for extracting information from images, video, and sensor data.
The Biovism lab focuses on the automated extraction of information from image, video and sensor data, its fusion with scientific knowledge and its embedding in computational models. We mainly focus on applications in the life sciences.
Our activities are mainly situated in the scientific fields of Computer Vision, Knowledge-Guided Machine Learning and Computational Modelling. Biovism is part of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University.
Researchers at the lab develop methodologies that allow information to be extracted from unstructured data sources and integrated with scientific knowledge to improve the performance and reliability of computational models.
